The Secretary,
The Committee for General Purposes, Stock Exchange, E.C.
Dear Sir,
The following is an extract from a letter we have received from one of our correspondents in a British Colony viz. Hong Kong.
"With regard to the difficulty of selling sterling shares to London at present we find that our competitors are over- coming this by obtaining certificates signed by the Attorney General here to the effect that the Shares are and have been
in British possession prior to August 1914. We shall be glad to know whether you can do business on the same basis. Please let us have a reply by wire if possible".
We should be obliged if you would kindly place this matter before your Committee and let us have their ruling at your earliest convenience, as to whether the course indi- cated in our correspondent's letter is permissable.
We are, dear Sir,
Yours faithfully,
(Sd) J. SILVERSTON & CO.
